Nude at Home

My friend of a lifetime, the CPA, the budding photographer, the frustrated designer, the creative persona.   All these describe Raquel. She managed to design, contract, and re-hab her master bathroom. Sorry that I don't have any "before" pictures so that you can appreciate the re-model all the more.  It's a beautiful open spa-like bathroom, I think.

After the completion, she wanted a piece of art to hang over the toilet (of all places!)  in a large, narrow wall.  She couldn't find a   perfect piece so that's where I came in.  She explained what she was after and we collaborated to design the perfect painting for this area. A nude. Tasteful and discreet, I think.  I'm very pleased with the way it looks but most importantly, she's the one who loves it!

Here are some photos I took recently when I dropped off the painting.

Spanish Sangria

Spanish sangria was inspired by this lovely pitcher, that my friend, Raquel gave me some years back. I use it to mix the ingredients for our sangrias, and love these earthy colors. There is a great recipie for sangria, with apples, from Allrecipes here.

Dimension: 11x14 canvas panel

Media:Oils

Here is a bamboo frame I picked for this (from FineArtAmerica):

Raquel with Sunflower Apron

My good friend, Raquel, has a newly remodeled kitchen with sunflower theme and colors. I love her happy kitchen! For Mother's Day I gave her an apron that I had printed with one of my original sunflower oil paintings on it and right above is her name. Doesn't she look cute?

I'm debating whether to add aprons to my etsy shop. They're so much fun to design. Any thoughts about that?
