Red Geranium

Recently someone suggested that it would be interesting to see the process for one of my paintings. So ever since, I've been meaning to chronicle my process but sometimes it's hard to pick up the camara when I'm so engrossed in what I'm doing. Painting does that to me. So instead of acting impulsively when I got the urge to paint this last geranium painting, I stopped and thought about the process and took pictures and wrote notes. I will try to share some of this throughout the next few days.

I love red geraniums! They remind me of my aunt's house in Spain. I planted these in a big clay pot a couple of years ago and I really liked the cast shadow, and although they are long gone, they live on in this little lovely painting. This impressionistic painting was done in oil impasto with palette knive and brushes. The petals are done in thick, rich impasto!

Damar varnished to protect it from dust and ensure longevity

I love geraniums! This one is painted in an impressionistic style with thick impasto petals. I love the way the light and shadows came out. We're having unseasonably cold weather in south Florida but this lovely geranium reminds me that spring is right around the corner!

I asked my OnlineBusinessSuccess Yahoo Group members to "watch" one of my items for me on ebay and in no time I had 14 people watching my Geranium painting! This is a group of very helpful and experienced people who have been selling for a while on different venues like ebay, Amazon and Bonanzle to name a few.
