Cuba Nostalgia Part Two

Cuba Nostalgia usually has some wonderful artists exhibited and this year was no exception. The Ladies in White or “Damas de Blanco” painting that Miguel Ordoqui exhibited was very moving. You may have heard of the ladies who are risking their lives in Cuba by peacefully demonstrating against the communist government for the unjust imprisonment of their relatives. They wear white (symbolizing peace) and after attending mass each Sunday, they walk silently to a nearby park. They risk their lives each time they do this. The movement received the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought in 2005.
