Illinois Old Barn and Tree Impressionistic Painting

Copyright 2010 Maria Soto Robbins

We recently went to Illinois for our annual visit to see family. We had great weather and were able to take lots of reference photos for future art work.

I’m afraid we probably trespassed by walking up to this old, abandoned barn  which was full of character, just outside of town. The wild grass was pretty tall and it was just such a peaceful place. No other humans and only corn fields for miles around. When you live in the noisy hustle, bustle of Miami, as we do, a pastoral scene such as this is very much appreciated. It makes you stop in your tracks and be grateful for the quiet solitude and the beauty all around.
