This impressionistic painting was inspired by these lovely little zinnias that were growing in my front entry some time back. As usual, I killed them with love! Oh well, at least I have this nice reminder of their brief life in my garden...
It has a very raised, textured, impasto center and a modern feel. I used oils and this lovely bold flower doesn't need a frame since it's staple free and painted black on the sides to display without a frame. Varnished to protect it from dust and ensure longevity. This painting also makes a great gift.
