As you may recall, from a previous post, every Wednesday I will try to profile another artist that I've encountered either on Daily Painters International Art Gallery or elsewhere on the web. It's just one way for me to share with you some of the talented artists that I've encountered.
Gwen Bell is another one of these artists that I admire and first discovered on EBSQ Self-Representing Artists. Her still lifes are my favorite. She has such colorful paintings with every day objects but makes them so interesting by the patterns on the tablecloths, the bright color combinations, and she captures the light and shadow in very interesting ways. I really love her approach with these.
The profile found on her blog says that "I was a Freelance Commercial Artist for 15 years, then a Muralist for 10 and now I want to spread my wings and try painting for ME. I have such admiration for all you artists out there who consistently paint on a daily basis. You are an inspiration! I can see it is going to take a lot of discipline, which I don't have, but I will make my best effort because I believe in the process and that it will help me grow as an artist."
Check out her blog here!

Torrie Smiley
Torrie Smiley at
The Mystery Artist Show and Sale
In the beginning of my art path, I first saw Torrie on EBSQ and was so impressed with her style and the fact that she was self-taught. She was definitely a role model for me!
She says on her profile that she "is originally from West Texas, now living and painting in the foothills of North Carolina. I am primarily a self-taught artist who paints using oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel. I have become known for my different renditions of pears, ranging from realism to colorful impressionism. I am a Juried Artist and my award winning Martini Series is a fan favorite." I'm particularly fond of her pear series:
She's also a fellow Daily Painters International Art Gallery artist. Please check out her wonderful art here.
Each Wednesday I will try to profile a fellow DPIAG artist or another artist of my choosing. There is so much incredible talent on the web and we rarely get a chance to meet some of these amazing artists! Stay tuned!

Artists of Daily Painters International Art Gallery
I have found a lot of inspiration and learned quite a lot from reading and following the Daily Painters International Art Gallery blog. There are so many talented artists here, whose work I love, whom I first "met" in EBSQ. My favorites include Marcia Baldwin, Gwen Bell, and Torrie Smiley , but there are many others. Each week I will do a little blog post about one of the wonderful artists who showcase their work in DPIAG. And I will do this on Wednesdays. So I will start tomorrow with one of the above. However there are other artists I've learned about that are NOT on DPIAG and I will occassionally profile those as well. So please stay tuned!

Daily Painters International Art Gallery
Just this week I joined DPIAG where 100 artists from around the world have united to market and sell their work. The curator and originator of this blog is K. Madison Moore who is a wonderfully gifted artist who paints in many different styles and so considers herself an “Eclectic Artist”. Check her work here. I have also found several other member artists that I’ve come to know and love like Marcia Baldwin and Jan Blencowe.
“For those of you who are new to Collecting art online, this is a wonderful resource for viewing and purchasing art from artists who use imagination, talent, or skill to create works on a daily basis.”
I’m so honored to be included in this group!
