Royal Poinciana Trio

Click here to see Royal Poinciana Palette Oil in my FAA store
The huge royal poinciana we have in front of our house hardly bloomed this year. I don't know why. Too much rain, maybe?  Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show you some of the paintings I've done in the past that have already sold but are available in my FineArtAmerica store. You can click each image to see it bigger or go to the shop.

FineArtAmerica Flower Prints

Now that the weather is getting a little bit dryer in south Florida, I've been able to go out and enjoy these two varieties of flowers that pretty much bloom year round. Although the originals have gone on to their new homes, prints and cards can be found here. You can also click the FineArtAmerica image.

Akron Townhouse School in Princeville, Il

This impressionistic painting was inspired by a little school house in the tiny town of Princeville, Illinois. This is the Akron Townhouse School in the grounds of the Heritage Museum. Interestingly enough "It opened its doors in 1900 and closed in 1958. It was the last one-room school house in Peoria County to close. After closing its doors as a school in ’58, it served as a church for 15 years, then as a meeting hall and polling place – and then finally in the 80’s and 90’s it was used as a storage shed and catch – all. It fell into disrepair during that time until a group of concerned citizens formed a committee to save the Akron Townhouse School in 2003."

We visit relatives in this part of the country each summer and it’s such a lovely, peaceful place! I loved painting this little historical building.

This original painting has since gone on to a happy home, in the Midwest, as a matter of fact, but you can still get prints and cards in my FineArtAmerica store.

Vincent's Sunflower Oil Painting

Copyright 2010 Maria Soto Robbins

Who doesn't love Vincent vanGogh's Sunflowers? This painting was done specifically to pay homage to the gifted artist and as an entry into FineArtAmerica's "Love vanGogh" contest. Vincent's name is randomly added throughout the background in whimsical curves. It won First Place! Many thanks to all who took the extra time to go vote, when I asked. You know who you are and I appreciate it!

Dimension: 8x10x.75" gallery wrapped canvas

Media: Oils
